An Inspirational Walk in Honor of an Inspirational Person
Warmest greetings. This past June my loving wife, Sharon Dwane, lost an inspirational and hard fought five and a half year battle with Stage IV Colon Cancer. Her family, friends, and co-workers at the Nashua Police Department want to keep her spirit alive with an event entitled Sharon’s Walk, to be held on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at Greeley Park in Nashua, New Hampshire.
Sharon’s Walk will become an annual event and will benefit one of Sharon’s favorite charities, the Greater Nashua Humane Society. What makes this walk special is that it will include walkers’ four-legged friends. Participants are invited and encouraged to bring their beloved pets with them for the walk. The Humane Society for Greater Nashua is a non-profit animal shelter that provides for and protects unwanted and homeless pets by connecting these pets with new loving families via adoption. We hope to continue to raise awareness and support the good efforts of this fine organization.
Throughout her long battle with cancer, Sharon demonstrated incredible courage, grace, and dignity. Sharon took great comfort during her treatments in her beloved dog, Zoey, who was a dog Sharon and I adopted from the Greater Nashua Humane Society. Sharon soldiered through her treatment with an ever-present engaging smile and an infectious spirit. Above all else, she served as an inspiration to all who knew her. Won’t you join us in keeping her spirit alive by participating in the 2014 Sharon’s Walk?
Majority of the proceeds will benefit the Greater Nashua Humane Society.
